modernisme architecture and mas • barcelona, spain
Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 12:04PM It's been 10 years since I lived in Barcelona, a city easy to fall in love with a first time and even easier to fall in love with a second time. While La Sagrada Familia is still not complete, the one-of-a-kind cathedral still amazes, as does the rest of Gaudi's masterpieces and other modern architecture works throughout the city. Here's a few highlights of my whirlwind trip back to BCN—including the necessary shot of jamon serrano.

Gaudi’s distinctive architectural styles have greatly influenced the face of Barcelona Architecture and this is reflected by the use of curved construction stones, twisted iron sculptures, and organic-like forms. The arrangement of original design, interesting shaped stonework, and exciting colors in Gaudi's work give the viewer a truly breathtaking visual experience.
